Promoted to lead twenty person cross-functional global private label commercial growth initiative – including overseeing all 3rd party international suppliers, distribution, procurement, and inventory management. Grew strategic global channel partners to enlarge product line, address newly targeted market segments and substantially increase company sales.​ Led twelve person global PM team with P&L ownership for all product lines. Established strategic product plan, new launch process, improved TTM and annual product launches year over year by 500%.

Transitioned company from custom-engineered to market-driven.  Researched, designed and led strategic long-range plans, internal process improvements and innovative new product introductions for multi-hundred million dollar global division across U.S., Europe, and Asia. Directed global product managers on market analysis, business intelligence, CRM, VOC, focus groups and unique value propositions to improve product development ROI. Worked within matrixed organization with sales, R&D, supply chain, EHS, Legal.  Evangelized strategic product roadmaps, MGAP/MGPP, with global executive team. Promoted to include global P&L responsibilities for $35M sub-segment of the total business.

 

STONERIDGE INC: Marketing Manager / Six Sigma Black Belt

Managed major product line and was promoted to create and grow “critical-to-organization” new product segment. Launched three new products within matrix organization. Developed marketing strategy and product specifications, directed product engineering, sales execution, and life-cycle management of new sensor line within $150M division.

 

SAPPI FINE PAPER: Consultant Project

​2002 - 2003

 

Improved sales, profit and working capital.  Raised annual revenue by $52M through improved system fill rates. Modified system algorithms, rebalanced inventory and improved customer order fill rates by over 10% and reduced working capital by $10M.

 

CARLISLE & COMPANY: Management Consultant

​1997 - 2002

 

Managed consulting projects for major transportation companies including automotive, railroads, airlines, and off-road machines.  Projects improved supply chains, redesigned processes, conducted industry benchmark research, designed launch campaigns.

People sometimes ask me during interviews or at a business functions, "Tell me about yourself; who is Andrew Shepard?" In this business context, I can best define myself by what value and unique qualities I bring to my company: Strategy, Analysis, Communication, Initiation, and Passion.

 

"I am a strategic thinker who is comfortable with the fuzzy front end of projects and can quickly spot the relevant patterns, trends, and market needs to be addressed and then work with a team to confirm the correct data.  I am very accomplished putting those thoughts, analysis and data into words, presentations and knowledge to communicate easily with executive boards, customers, and with individual team members to gain confidence, achieve wide consensus and define a clear course of action.  I also have a passion for turning those plans into actions, prioritizing resources, developing people, initiating projects, improving processes, creating products, opening up new markets and ultimately making good things happen.  I am comfortable making timely decisions and helping move forward to achieve my personal, team and company goals.  I can be somewhat competitive as I always want my company, my team, my products to win - but never at the expense of the larger organization.  I am a passionate and independent six-sigma black belt and problem solver who will rise to meet any challenge."
